FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What level of funding will my lab get?
Your lab will not receive a monetary grant, however, your lab will gain access (i.e. time) to staff that are well-trained in sample preparation for NMR and X-ray crystallography studies and our robotic microscale crystallization laboratory at UNMC and macroscale crystallization laboratory at UNL. There is a limited budget for supplies and facility time for NMR and X-ray data collection.
What type of projects is the NCSB collaborative looking for?
The goal of the NCSB is to promote the use of structural biology methods in scientific research in the state of Nebraska. We will help generate the necessary preliminary data needed to receive external funding. Priority will be given to projects that employ structural biology methods for fundable research projects, and most importantly, that will help sustain the center in the future. It is our expectation that you would include costs in your funded proposal. If your proposal is selected then a collaborative agreement would be negotiated similar to this example.
